Ken Rusko, a seasoned professional in skiing, golf, and scuba diving, boasts nearly two decades of experience instructing over 10,000 individuals of all ages. A natural athlete since childhood, he earned five varsity letters across various team sports. Initially a city worker in Providence for a decade, Ken later made a transformative move to Mexico in 2008, obtaining a level 4 Scuba Instructor certification in Playa del Carmen, which catapulted his sports career upon returning to the states.
Returning to the US, Ken became a distinguished Focus Sports Instructor, dividing his time between Rhode Island and Vermont. He served as the Assistant Head Golf Pro at Ledgemont Country Club in RI and led youth groups as a ski and snowboard instructor in Killington, VT. Ken's profound passion lies in empowering children to build confidence through sports. Beyond his professional pursuits, he indulges in disc golf, board games, charter fishing, and hiking during his free time.
Michael Murphy was born in Providence and raised in the diverse Elmwood section of the city. He attended public school throughout his educational years - including Flynn Elementary, Bridgham Middle School and Classical High School. During those years he had a love of baseball and spending time with his friends. However, that time with friends did lead them into trouble more often than he would have ever thought while growing up in Providence.
After high school he went to college at the University of Hartford but of course quickly came back to Rhode Island to be with friends and attended CCRI . While taking night classes, Michael worked for the Providence School Department as well as valeting on nights & weekends.
Michael would meet his soon to be wife and that love made him want to be a better man and father to her little girl and his own daughter as well. He began a career focused on real estate. Now he is the Deputy City Assessor for the City of Providence and also an active Realtor at Churchill & Banks Residential. Both of his daughters have grown to be amazing people. One is a senior in college working as a Medical Assistant and one is a senior at Classical High School and soon to be freshman at Johnson and Wales University.
Recently, he has unfortunately experienced the loss of family and friends. He began to think of how he could start to give back in life. Coincidently around that time, his former coworker and friend Ken Rusko came to him with the request to join the board for a non-profit organization he was starting for disadvantaged youth called E.C.O. Michael thought it was the perfect opportunity to give back.
